After Kiss came off the road promoting Crazy Nights they needed something to keep fan interest going before Hot in The Shade was put out in fall of 1989, comes compilation Kiss Smashes, Trashes & Hits Here are vinyl variants of mine on mercury and UK vertigo see hype sticker below
Record covers are the same on front but Vertigo has a different track listing features Crazy, Crazy Nights and Reason to Live that are not included on the American release
digging through my collection today I have several variant copies of Kiss Alive II from 1977 Vinyl format came with 2 vinyl records, merch insert and tattoos
Then there is the much sought after misprint copy with Take Me and Hooligan that are printed on the back cover but are not on the vinyl records
Kiss The Originals Vinyl 3 Record Set from 1976 were released in USA, Canada and Japan. There were 1st and 2nd pressing. This set features the first 3 Kiss album up to that point, gatefold notebook cover, sticker sheet, booklet, and trading cards. *Shop Junk Bucket Collectibles! *
Interesting the 1974 self titled debut features the second pressing variant that has Kissing Time that was not on the first pressing of the 1974 debut. All 3 releases in this set have the unique originals labels on the records.
First pressing record sleeves have matted paper, one the 2nd pressing the record sleeves were glossy. These pics below are from my first pressing set
its been a while figured I would make a comeback post of one of my favorite
heavy metal records from the 1980s, Motley Crue Shout at the Devil released in
1983.
Borrowing heavily from Alice Cooper, Kiss and Nikki Sixx former fellow
bandmate Blackie Lawless from W.A.S.P. Motley seemed to draw attention in
satanic panic era of the 80s and released Shout at the Devil with embroidered
pentagram logo on the front cover fans loved it but parents complained and 2nd
pressing was changed to all black no pentagram cover.
1st pressing has a red label on the record, 2nd pressing has the standard red and black record labels that Dokken had on their records seeing they also were signed to Elektra records.
following kiss lead this album had a merch fan club inserts something that was a staple of kiss records in the 1970s,
shout also featured a gatefold sleeve that opened to 4 color photos of the band Vince Nikki Mick and Tommy record label initially rejected the idea of the addition printing costs, seeing they were fairly a new band at that point but after shout went gold and platinum they saw just how important the band image was. Both records have the same lyric and pentagram inner sleeve
