Motley Crue Shout at the Devil vinyl variants

its been a while figured I would make a comeback post of one of my favorite heavy metal  records from the 1980s, Motley Crue Shout at the Devil released in 1983.

Borrowing heavily from Alice Cooper, Kiss and Nikki Sixx former fellow bandmate Blackie Lawless from W.A.S.P. Motley seemed to draw attention in satanic panic era of the 80s and released Shout at the Devil with embroidered pentagram logo on the front cover fans loved it but parents complained and 2nd pressing was changed to all black no pentagram cover.

1st pressing has a red label on the record, 2nd pressing has the standard red and black record labels that Dokken had on their records seeing they also were signed to Elektra records.

following kiss lead this album had a merch fan club inserts something that was a staple of kiss records in the 1970s,

shout also featured a gatefold sleeve that opened to 4 color photos of the band Vince Nikki Mick and Tommy record label initially rejected the idea of the addition printing costs, seeing they were fairly a new band at that point but after shout went gold and platinum they saw just how important the band image was. Both records have the same lyric and pentagram inner sleeve
